Copley Teen Room Events for September/October

Hey all! So, here at Copley, we’ve got a LOT of awesome events coming up in the next two months that I’d love to tell you about! Get out your calendars and write all this down because you’re not going to want to miss anything that’s happening!

Every Wednesday @3pm we’re showing Noir films in the Teen Room. The movies we have left in our schedule are: The Maltese Falcon(1941), The Postman Always Rings Twice(1946), and Sunset Boulevard(1950). Snacks will be provided, but please remember, this is a TEEN ONLY event and all films are UNRATED.

Starting this afternoon, our Teen Council will be meeting every other Friday @2:30pm. This is an awesome group of people who help plan and organize events in the Copley Teen Room. If you have ideas for things you’d like to see, join the fun and let us know what you think!

Our Anime Club meets on the 14th and 21st @3:30pm for a good time watching and talking about Anime. Join the fun! We can always use more members.

Creative Writing Workshop: on September 18th @2pm we have a workshop happening in the Teen Room for those intrested in learning how to write a short story or novel. Everyone is welcome, whether you have experience or not. There will be time for free writing and sharing your work, so be prepared for giving and recieving good critical feedback to help you improve your writing.

There’s a Murder Mystery Event happening on the 12th @3:30 in the Teen Room. Become a character for an afternoon and solve a mysterious murder. There will be pizza served at the “dinner party”. However, there are a limited number of characters available, so we ask you to please sign up in advance, either in the Teen Room in person or by phone (617-859-2334).

Our Anime Club meets on the 19th @3:30pm in October.

Ever watched the TV show Animal Cops? Ever wanted to talk to a REAL Animal Cop to see what a day at work is like for them? Now you’ve got the chance! October 20th @ 3pm in Conference Room 5 we’ll have a real Animal Cop talking about his job and answering any questions you might have.

Design-A-Pumpkin With Frankenstein! October 21st @2pm. It’s a Frankenstein Movie Marathon! Grab a pumpkin and have fun with markers and paint. Draw a face, or anything else you can think of. At the same time, enjoy the original three Frankenstein movies: Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and Son of Frankenstein. (Note, this is NOT an event for children.)

The only ongoing event that has not change dates and times is our Video Gaming. This happens every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2pm-5:30pm provided there are no other events going on in the Teen Room at those times.

Also please note: ALL of these events are for TEENS ONLY. No adults above the age of 18 or below the age of 12 may participate in any of these events.

If you have any further questions or wish to sign up for any of these events, please give us a call @617-859-2334. Otherwise, we’re always here in person to answer any questions you may have.

The Copley branch of the Boston Public Library is located at 700 Boylston St. Boston, MA 02116. And all events are happening in the Teen Room unless otherwise noted.

Eclipse is coming!

The third enstallment of the Twilight saga is arriving in theaters very soon!

WANT FREE TICKETS?!?! Come to the Teen Room at Copley and participate in our trivia contest. If you win, you’ll get free tickets to see the movie Eclipse! This will occur tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at 3:30.

It seems there are a lot of people gearing up for the big event in L.A. Some have been camped out (literally!) in tents and sleeping bags since Sunday, just to get a chance to meet the actors and actresses and see the movie! Check out the article and see pictures here:
